akikpautik / kana:tso* brings together two names by which the Lachaudière Falls are called, by the Akgonkin and Kanien’ke:ha of this place. The installation is meant to honour this place of transformation and underscore the complexity of knowledge that shapes the memory of the land. akikpautik / kana:tso was created for the exhibition Territoires Parallèles, with the curator Kasia Basta for the Centre d’exposition L’Imagier in Gatineau, QC.

akikpautik / kana:tso réunit dans son titre, les noms par lesquels sont connus les Chutes de la chaudière, nommées ainsi par les Algonkins et les Kanien'kehá:ka de cet endroit. Cette installation honore ce lieu de transformation, et marque la complexité des savoirs qui contribuent à la mémoire de ce territoire. akikpautik / kana:tso a été créée pour l’exposition Territoires Parallèles, avec la commissaire Kasia Basta pour le Centre d’exposition L’Imagier à Gatineau, QC.
