water song [sakaakweehko] visually reproduces the digital soundwave of a song by George Ironstack, to thank the water and express its importance to the Miami creation teaching and Miami culture. Imagery for the installation was taken during visits to culturally important places: the Seven Pillars at nimacihsinwi siipiiwi [Mississinewa River] and Hanging Rock at waapaahšiki siipiiwi – [Wabash River] in Miami Territory, near Indianapolis, Indiana. The images were taken in the spring after many heavy rains.


water song [sakaakweehko] reprend visuellement les ondes sonores d’un chant composé par George Ironstack pour remercier l’eau et exprimer son importance à l’enseignement de la création Miami et à sa culture. L’imagerie est d’endroits culturellement importants: les Sept Piliers du nimacihsinwi siipiiwi [Mississinewa River] et la Roche qui pend à waapaahšiki siipiiwi – [Wabash River] situées dans les Territoires Miami, près de Indianapolis, Indiana. Les images ont été prises au printemps après beaucoup de pluies.
